Nicola Kerr Counselling
My experience covers a wide range of issues some of which are listed below:
  • Depression
  • Post and Pre-Natal Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement
  • Anger
  • Relationship problems/couples counselling
  • Eating disorders
  • Loss of health
  • Pregnancy
  • Miscarriage
  • Abortion
  • Infertility
  • Family problems
  • Personal conflicts
  • Self-esteem
  • Self-harm

I also have wide experience of counselling parents who have suffered child loss through stillbirth, or miscarriage, and have undertaken a research project which studied the role counselling can play in this unique form of grief.

My original therapeutic training was humanistic with a focus on person centred counselling. I then developed a more integrative approach through further training although Rogerian values continue to underpin my practice. I draw on elements from several other modalities which I think are most suited to an individual client’s needs. Examples of these are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; Gestalt Therapy; Psychodynamic Therapy and Transactional Analysis. I also work with the Inner Child, if appropriate.
